Jason Davies Receives Global Recognition Award In Paris!
Jason Davies with Intercoiffure Mondial President Klaus Peter Ochs
Renowned New Zealand Hairdresser & L’Oréal Professionnel Ambassador Jason Davies flew to Europe in early September to receive a highly prestigious, Global Recognition Award - the ‘Créateur de Mode Award’ at the Intercoiffure Mondial ‘Night of the Stars’ Award Ceremony, held at the Palais Brongniart in central Paris.
The international community of elite hairdressers from across the world attended this stellar event, with Jason accepting his award in front of a 1500 strong audience on the evening of Saturday the 10th of September 2011. The ‘Créateur de Mode Award’ is a global recognition, directional hair fashion award that recognises the recipient’s creative excellence, technical and artistic contribution to the creation of a hair collection which is distributed to 55 countries around the world.
As part of the collection, Jason created two signature looks,- the first being a futuristic, textured chin level blonde bob with a ‘V’ shaped angular fringe on a Nordic featured model, and the second, touted as an architectural & sculptural hair masterpiece, a fifties inspired up-do on a beautiful dark haired model. Intercoiffure stated it as being one of the most outstanding & finest collections ever produced, and for that reason invited Jason to receive his award in Paris.
This is a huge triumph for New Zealand Hairdressing simply because only a privileged select few are chosen as recipients and Jason is the first & only New Zealand hairdresser that has travelled to Paris to receive it. This is the second time in less than a decade that Jason has received international recognition for his work, the first, the International Haircutting Award in 2005(Sydney) and now the Créateur de Mode Award 2011(Paris).
Wayne Richardson of Ktizo (Hamilton) was also honoured with the Créateur de Mode Award , but due to scheduling commitments, was unable to attend. Wayne was represented at the event by the New Zealand National Technical Manager of L’Oréal Professionnel Hayley Pullyn.
Intercoiffure Mondial is a top worldwide hairdressing organisation on the highest level – not only in such cities as Paris, New York, Tokyo, Berlin, London and Rome, but across the entire world.
It is an international network of the hair fashion elite, furthering friendships across countries, opening the doors of the best hairdressers to the young talents throughout the hairdressing industry and leading in all fields of business; such are the goals of Intercoiffure in 55 countries.
At the moment, Intercoiffure is represented by 2000 salons and over 4000 people worldwide throughout this prestigious organisation.
Jason states: "To receive such an award on the world stage in Paris is truly an honour, an absolute confirmation of our unique ability as New Zealand Hairdressers. Receiving this award would not have been possible, were it not for the inspiration I have personally drawn from the incredibly gifted team of colleagues such as Wayne Richardson, Mana Dave, Ian Smith, Sara Allsop, and the incredible support of Hayley Pullyn. To have my work recognised in 55 countries is a major career thrill, so it is on that premise alone that I, on behalf of New Zealand Hairdressing and Team Oceania, graciously accept the Créateur de Mode Award”.
With 21 years experience, Jason has become one of New Zealand’s most respected & requested educators in cutting & styling, facilitated over 50 Educational Workshops & Seminars nationwide, assisted in spearheading the revolutionary H3 Cutting & Styling Education Programme on behalf of L’Oréal Professionnel alongside Kyla Rose of Servilles Group.
No stranger to competitive hairdressing, Jason has accumulated a multitude of industry awards including the National NZARH Photographic Award 2005, the Photographer of the Year award in 2008, and became the first and only New Zealand Hairdresser to win an International Haircutting Award in 2005.
