Tabatha Takes Over Auckland’s Sky City Theatre!

The créme de la créme of New Zealand hairdressing turned out for what surely must have been one of the year’s most anticipated shows, when Joico presented the star of Arena’s popular reality series, ‘Tabatha’s Salon Takeover’, Tabatha Coffey. Against a set black & white stage backdrop Tabatha kept her spellbound audience captivated for almost 2 hours.

As one of Australia’s most successful hairdressing exports Tabatha has certainly carved her mark on the world stage. Her charismatic personality combined with her intense sense of motivation......Make no mistake, this woman means business! Dressed entirely in black this platinum blonde bombshell cut an impressive figure with her stunning 3 inch elevated Christian Louboutin boots. She looked, walked and talked like a movie star!

Not one to mince words the Joico educator had the crowd in fits as she described herself as a ‘Bitch’. Brave, Intelligent, Tenacious, Creative and Honest. Tabatha offered a remarkable insight as to how her amazing career has unfolded. From her beginnings on the Gold Coast to working in London then moving to New York and opening her own salon ‘Industrie Hair Gurus’ in New Jersey.

After participating as a contestant on the television show, ‘Shear Genius’, where she was eliminated after the sixth episode,Tabatha was then voted the audience favourite and as a result won $10,000. In 2008, she was then approached to star in her own reality series ‘Tabatha’s Salon Takeover’ in which she uses her hairdressing and business expertise and edgy style to assist salons in danger of closing. The show is currently in its third season.

For those lucky attendees there were plenty of tips and information to be gleaned as she covered the many aspects of running a successful salon. Tabatha was very obliging and answered every question that was thrown at her and believe me there were plenty! Perhaps the only criticism was that the Q&A’s dragged on for too long cutting short her excellent presentation.

One of the more popular crowd subjects was that of Tabitha filming an episode downunder. She did not discount the possibility....So watch this space! In summing up it was a show not to be missed and everyone that attended left very satisfied particularly when they were invited to have their photo taken with Tabatha....The photo opportunity of a lifetime!
