Kimbra Wins Album of the Year at Vodafone NZ Music Awards!

It was another great night out for the New Zealand music industry as thousands crammed into Auckland’s Vector Arena to celebrate and party the night away at NZ’s annual music awards. We were there with the team from STRUCTURE hair, the official hair sponsor and with the great atmosphere  we enjoyed the evening’s vibe!

Melbourne-based singer-songwriter Kimbra was the red hot favourite to win and ended up taking home 5 awards including ‘Album of the Year! She also won the International Achievement award for Vows which sold more than 70,000 copies in Australia and debuted at No. 14 on the US Billboard chart.

Auckland band Six60 was hugely popular, winning not only the Peoples’ Choice award but a total of 6 tuis overall including best group and best single. The Naked and Famous got an International Achievement Award. The best rock album award went to the Checks.

NZ Music's biggest night had some pretty interesting presenters including Ben Harper, Dominic Bowden, actor Karl Urban , Jaime Ridge and Dr Rock Barry Jenkin. A tribute to Herald Legacy Award winners Toy Love, was performed by a combination of bands, Rackets, Street Chant and Tiny Ruins.
