NZ Beauty Industry Awards!
The NZ Beauty Industry Awards were held on Saturday 6th July at the Pullman Hotel in Auckland where an entertaining ‘circus’ themed gala dinner celebrated the best of the best in the industry. MC was X Factor host Dominic Bowden with JUVE from Gisborne being the big winner on the night, taking out the coveted Best Clinic & Spa Award.
The awards were very competitive and simply to make it to the short list was a great honour in itself. A leading industry expert, described the challenge in assessing the increasingly high standard of entries, "Each year it gets tougher and tougher to judge these awards. The entries keep raising the bar”.
Louise Dickenson of CHRYSALIS Browns Bay won the Best New Business Award said, "Winning the award is a great honour but having your team working towards one goal; ‘to be the best they can be’, is the real reward. I find the process of entering the industry awards a great way to focus on what we are trying to achieve and our clinic’s position within the market place.”
CHRYSALIS remained in the spotlight when their very own Whangaparoa therapist, Kowhai Linnell took home the award for Best Therapist. Kowhai said, "The most rewarding part of the process was the clients’ feedback, acknowledgment and support they gave me throughout. I definitely grew as a therapist and feel much clearer on my direction and what I have to offer my clients.”
The Best Student Award went to Nicole Hamlin from Elite International in Wellington. Runner Up was Catherine Chu, also from Elite in Auckland. One of the judges said, "It makes me so proud to see such outstanding young talent coming through the ranks. Real stars of the future”.
The Awards raise awareness of the potential within the industry, giving therapists and business owners a chance to strive for excellence and shine in their field. Probeauty, winner of the Marketing Excellence Award said, "Thank you to the organisers for putting on a wonderful night of fabulous food, wine, dance and entertainment, and for giving us in the industry an opportunity to strive for excellence.”
The industry also acknowledged the outstanding contribution and influence ofDon Kendall and Noel Turner whohave over 30 years in the beauty industry. Don and Noel were presented the Life Time Contribution Award by Judy West from the NZ Association of Registered Beauty Therapists.
