Uros Mikic Wins Global Men’s Hairdressing Award!

The Creative Director of Adelaide’s Kinky Curly Straight hair salon Uros Mikic, is the global winner of the Best Men’s photographic category in the Association of International Professional Press awards (AIPP), the most prestigious hairdressing photographic competition in the world. His winning collection ‘Streets of New York’ featured in the April/May issue of Images.

Uros is the only Australian hairdresser to win an award in the 2015 competition; a true acknowledgement of the international appeal of his work, and cementing his place as one of the world’s most influential hair artists. Regarded as the benchmark of photographic excellence in the global hairdressing industry, this is Uros’ 1st win in the AIPPs in a year that boasts a NEW participation record of over 600 photographic collections from 34 countries around the globe, with 20 finalists announced in each category.

Judged by over 70 international trade magazine editors and publishers from 35 countries around the world, the Best Men’s Collection category is judged on the collection that recognizes and pays tribute to the marked increase of interest in men’s hair fashion. Uros’ winning collection Streets of New York showcases his signature creative hair artistry, underpinned by a simple understated elegance, with a raw urban edge. His work has now proven to set standards in hair fashion around the world.
