The Bishop Selwyn Chapel in Parnell was an inspired venue for the launch of the new ghd gold Styler. With the roof of the Chapel just happened to be, a spectacular gold, and a wall adorned with gold balloons, there was definitely a Gold theme to the afternoon! Demonstrating the Gold Styler was session stylist ‘ghd ANZ Creative Director’ Richard Kavanagh along with ghd ‘brand warrior’ Brad Lepper. Managing Director Ludovic Dellazzeri and ghd Head of Marketing Geraldine van der Merwe were also on hand having flown in especially for the launch from Brisbane.
Also unveiled was an 18 karat version of the Gold styler, which is worth $3,000. There are only 70 created globally and 10 are available across Australia and New Zealand. Consumers could win 1 of 3 by registering their new ghd electrical tool online and following the prompts to enter!
But all of the talk was about the Gold Styler which features a balanced heat of 185 degrees and a heat-up time of 25 seconds, as well as contoured, floating plates for flexible styling. Dual-zone technology that contains heat sensors and controls the heat from root to tips. There is also a sleep mode that turns the straightener off if it hasn’t been used for 30 minutes. Other features are universal voltage, a protective plate guard for safe storage and a professional length 2.7m cable.
ghd sells 4 stylers every minute across the globe… that’s 2,102,400 every year!
ghd global ambassador Adam Reed says “We are bringing straight hair back for 2018. But in a very modern way. The secret to success lies in the process, namely starting the look with a brilliant blow dry via a ghd air hair dryer, afterwards running the ghd gold styler over hair to eliminate any last frizz or kinks. This achieves brilliant condition, gloss, shine and movement. The look is literally, Straight Up Luxe.”
