Session Colourist Andreas Kurkowitz, has just been announced Global Colour Ambassador for Wella Professionals. Though still at an early point in his career, Kurkowitz has already become one of the most influential and sought-after colourists in the fashion world. Devotees of his session colour work include major labels such as Acne, Vetements, Givenchy, Balenciaga and Louis Vuitton, and he regularly shoots for the likes of Love, iD and Vogue.
In his new role Kurkowitz will contribute his strong, creative talent to the development of Wella Professionals’ inspirational, seasonal colour trends, alongside helping to train future generations of colourists through Wella Professionals’ extensive colour education program. Kurkowitz, who divides his time between his multiple editorial and fashion commitments and his eponymous colour studio located in the Mitte area of Berlin, regularly collaborates with Wella Professionals Global Creative Director, Eugene Souleiman.
Kurkowitz stated, “I’m honoured and thrilled to be joining the Wella Professionals family. Wella’s reputation is second to none and it’s been my go-to colour since very early on in my career. Creatively, Wella embraces diversity and celebrates the expression of individuality through colour, something that matches my creative style. I am excited about the possibilities surrounding what we can create together.”
On the 14th October Wella Professionals unveiled its new Spring/Summer 18 Non-Touring Shift trend collection at the Coty Professional Beauty Global Media Day, at The Ned in London. It marked the first collaboration with Kurkowitz and showcased a deconstructed and diffused application technique, the hair colour equivalent of skin diffusing primers, coupled with a muted urban palette, created to sit across the genders.
