Celebrating the best in hairdressing and emerging talent across Australia and New Zealand, Wella Professionals held their annual TrendVision Awards in Brisbane in the historical City Hall on the 9th September.
The event, hosted by Benni and Kristian Tognini from renown local salon Togninis, attracted an enthusiastic crowd comprising of the hair industry’s finest. They came to celebrate a night of entertainment, creativity and hair fashion!
40 talented finalists from both countries came together to battle it out to take home the Gold Award in two categories: Color Vision and Creative Vision.
To reach the final, entrants first entered a photographic competition to create their own interpretation of Wella Professionals’ ‘Pure Chroma Nontouring’ trend.
The finalists all featured on a catwalk to showcase their looks, which were judged by a host of industry greats including: Frank Apostolopoulos, Belinda Jeffrey, Lee Cohen, Atilio Dusa, Kylie Hayes, Justin Pace, Deanna Parker and Guy Roberts.
The prestigious Creative Vision Gold Award was won by Elizabeth Shedwick of TONI & GUY Australia and Jackson Rodeka of Zaibatsu Hair Art New Zealand.
The Color Vision Gold Award was won by Tanya Grant of Joey Scandizzo Salon Australia and Anna Bell of TONI & GUY New Zealand.
All four of the Gold Award winners now have an exciting and action packed journey ahead of them, which will involve attending International TrendVision taking place in Lisbon, Portugal in November.
Wella’s Education Director Australia & New Zealand, Gina Thomas, comments:
“TrendVision is an integral part of Wella’s commitment to celebrate and elevate hairdressing talent. It is a truly life changing opportunity for Australian and New Zealand hairdressers and gives them the opportunity to have their work recognised on a national and international level.
A remarkable legacy, TrendVision is still the first and only hairdressing competition showcased on a national and international level. On behalf of Wella, I would like to congratulate our Creative Vision Gold Award winners Elizabeth Shedwick and Jackson Rodeka and our Color Vision Gold Award winners Tanya Grant and Anna Bell.
It’s incredible to see the ever increasing quality of creativity and craft of our winners and all of our entrants in 2018 TrendVision..
